"Spiritual sermons with practical principles” best describes the ministry of Rev. Johnson. Taking believers beyond belief is his anointed calling.

“For years the church has produced public successes but private failures. God has called me to run this assembly line out of business! It is time to raise up a standard that last longer than Sunday! After all the church is within us!”

Under this anointing many, many believers have been challenged to discover that believing in Christ is not enough. He constantly challenges believers to read not only Romans 10:9 but keep the bible open long enough to read Romans 10:10.

God has led Rev. Johnson to preach all over the world calling believers into a greater level of living. From his revivals entitled “AND YOU CALLED YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN” to his men conference entitled “A GOOD MAN IN BAD SHAPE!” He continues to seek God for messages that reach the masses. His walk with Christ started at age 16, under the pasturage of Dr. J. Allen Caldwell of the Burnette Baptist Church. Shortly after receiving Christ, he served as a junior deacon (later became president of the jr deacons), he served as a teacher assistant (later became a Sunday School teacher) he was very active in the youth dept. (later became Youth Leader and Family Coordinator). His preaching ministry started at age 19 and again God led him higher to serve as an Assistant to the Pastor.

God had a plan in place. While preaching all over the world, God still lead him to acquired his Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Lewis College of Business, a Bachelors of Science degree in Management Information System from University of Detroit and a recognized Business Certificate in Leadership from Wayne State University. Dr. Anthony D. Johnson, completed his Master Degree in Religious Study from Destiny Christian University and he earned his Doctorate degree in Theology in 2013.

He has also written two books ~ "So you have been called to your first Church" and "The Presence of An Absent Father"

He is the husband of ONE wife (Toya Johnson) and the proud father of three biological children (Anthony Jr, Maurice and Alyse) and an adopted daughter Ashley Nguyen.

Under his continued leadership, Prayer Temple has over 250+ members and in their gorgeous edifice located in Redford, Mi. Prayer Temple hosts a number of community events and outreach efforts including an annual Diversity Concert that provides funding to the local food pantries, homeless shelters, etc..
